Beauty and the Beast

                Once upon a time, there was a prince. He was good-looking and very rich. He lived in a beautiful castle together with his staffs and servants.

                One rainy dark night, a woman came to his castle. She was old and ugly. The prince did not like her and sent her away. After he sent the woman away, she turned into a beautiful fairy. She cast a spell over the prince and his castle. He looked very ugly instead and all his servants turned into furniture. One day, old man named Maurice was travelling past the castle. It was raining so hard that he decided to enter the castle. When the beast saw him, he captured him.

                After some time, Maurice’s youngest daughter, Belle, began to worry about him. She started to look for him. Finally, she arrived in the castle and she found her father there. She asked the beast to let her father go but he refused. Belle then agreed to stay in the castle so that her father could go home.

                While Belle was staying at the castle, the Beast slowly changed. He was not mean anymore. Belle began to like him and finally they felt in love with each other. A tree has three main parts. They are root (akar), trunk (batang pohon), and crown. Tree`s roots have fuction to absorb water and nutrient from the soil. They olso store sugar and hold the tree upright on the ground. Root also have alot of branhces

 The trunk support the crown and gives the tree its shape (bentuk) and                                                                    strength. it consists many layers which carry water and mineral up from the root. The layers also carry sugar down from the leaves to the branches, trunk and roots

The crown is at the top of the tree. It consist leaves, branches, and twigs. The crown fuctions are to filter dust and other particles from the air. The leaves which contain chlorophyll are the food factory of the tree. The chlorophyll also give green colour to the leaves.

We had a three-day camp in Tawangmangu resort last week. The location was on the slope of Mount Lawu. There was a river with clear water not far from our camp site.

The Cherry Tree

When George Washington was about six years old, he was made the wealthy master of 
a hatchet of which, like most little boys, he was extremely fond. He went about chopping 
everything that came his way.

 One day, as he wandered about the 
garden amusing himself by hacking his mother’s pea-sticks, he found a beautiful, young English cherry tree, of which his father was most proud. He tried the edge of his hatchet on the trunk of the tree and barked it so that it died.
